The investigation into the recent death of a local woman took a twist Friday night when a detective discovered traces of blood on a sprinkler head in close proximity to where her body was found.  

A second potential suspect gave a statement to detectives Friday about this week's fatal hit-and-run crash. But police won't say if they are any closer to finding out exactly what happened Tuesday night, when Adam Mottorn, 17, was killed on Porter Street. Detectives said the statement came from the passenger who was in the vehicle that allegedly struck and killed Mottorn.  

A mobile home fire claimed the life of a 22-year-old woman Friday morning and severely burned a 1-year-old girl and her 28-year-old aunt, the Pinal County Sheriff's Office said. The blaze broke out at about 8:30 a.m. at the structure in the Pinal County community of Maricopa south of Phoenix. The name of the victim has not yet been released.  

Since June the Cedar City Police Department has been trying to find the answers to a number of vehicles burglaries in the 300 West 1425 North area. Thanks to a finger print they found their answer. The Iron County Sheriff's Office crime scene investigation team told detectives at the police department that they a finger print that they found at the scene matched a 17-year-old juvenile that had links to some of their burglaries investigations, said Det. Nate Williams of the Cedar City Police Department.

Around 11:20 Friday morning (11/20/09) Murfreesboro police received a 911 call about an infant who was having difficulty breathing. When emergency responders arrived at the Buck Cherry Way address, they found Parker Arthur Wilcox already cold to the touch. The 3-month old triplet was rushed to the ER at Middle Tennessee Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.  

It was a 'drive-by' back before the term was invented. A 50-year-old case of murder and racial inequality that happened in East Texas. The year was 1955 when three people were shot at a Gregg County café, and justice was not served.  

Police asked for help Friday to solve a Surrey shooting early Halloween morning that killed a mother of two young children. The victim, Roxanne Flora Charlie, 26, of Kelowna, had arrived in town to visit friends on Oct. 30 and was shot dead at an after-hours party house, sometimes referred to as a "booze can," on 152A Street near 102 Avenue in Guildford in the early hours of Oct. 31. She is survived by two young children, age two and four.

The death of a woman on B.C.'s Hornby Island on Wednesday is now being investigated as a homicide, police say. An autopsy was conducted Friday on the body of Tempest Gale, 25. "As a result of the autopsy, foul play is suspected and this investigation is being treated as a homicide," RCMP Const.

The fatal shooting of 33-year-old Linh Tu Nguyen in a Marina Vista home appears drug related, police said Friday. More than 10 pounds of marijuana was recovered from the house on Orion Road where police found Nguyen's body late Wednesday night, police Lt. Pete Ballew said. The Alameda County Coroner's Office confirmed that Nguyen died from a gunshot wound.
